Getting to Tampa

Tampa International Airport (TPA)
If you’re flying to Tampa, you’ll likely arrive at Tampa International Airport (TPA). It  is the closest airport to downtown Tampa and The Tampa Convention Center. It is 7 miles away and a 15–20-minute drive. TPA offers a convenient gateway to the city. The airport serves numerous domestic and international destinations, with a variety of airlines providing direct flights.

St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport (PIE)
St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport (PIE) is another option for travelers visiting the Tampa Bay area. While PIE is located approximately 20 miles northwest of downtown Tampa, it still offers convenient access to the region. From PIE, visitors can reach downtown Tampa in approximately 30–40 minutes by car, depending on traffic conditions.

The Airport also offers various transportation services for travelers arriving in the Tampa Bay area. Additionally, car rental options are available at the airport for those who prefer the convenience and flexibility of having their own vehicle.

Major highways, including Interstate 75 and Interstate 4, connect Tampa to neighboring cities and regions. Driving from nearby cities like Orlando typically takes around an hour and a half, while Miami is approximately a four-hour drive away.

While Tampa does not have a major passenger train station, Amtrak offers service to nearby cities such as Orlando and Miami. Travelers can take the Amtrak Thruway bus service from Tampa to connect with train routes at other stations in Florida.
