Covid-19 & Abstract Submission

Covid-19 & Abstract Submission

For the past few months, the Committee and I have been closely monitoring the situation regarding COVID-19 and its possible impact on the 2020 IEEE NSS MIC conference in November. We are closely following all specific travel advice through official channels, including the World Health Organization (WHO) and the US State Department.

I made the decision to keep the submission deadline for papers unaltered (May 7, 2020). Everyone is subject to the same unfortunate circumstances. Many of us are concerned about not having enough data to present at the conference or not having much data available to support a submission. We are all well aware of this, but despite the concerns we all share, I would still like to ask you to submit the abstract and summary by the present deadline. Knowing that we are all in the same situation, I will direct our experienced reviewer pool to account for this when reviewing submissions.

We are currently evaluating many factors and alternative practices to determine the optimal format for the various sessions that take place during the NSS MIC. We are trying to have contingencies in place to address any possible way events will unfold. For example, we are currently planning to allow video presentations from authors who are unable to attend the conference due to travel restrictions.

As in previous years, all accepted and presented papers can be published in the conference proceedings and will later be indexed by IEEE Xplore Digital Library and Scopus.

Rest assured that our primary driver will always be the safety and health of our participants. That is why we monitor the facts daily and we have plans to adapt as conditions require it.

For now, wherever you live, please stay safe.
